Benefits: Meadowfoam Seed Oil is rich in Vitamin E, and offers antioxidant activity. This makes it a good oil for use in antiaging applications and also helps make it a highly stable oil. It is especially good for dry, sensitive, or damaged skin as it is very restorative. It does not generally cause skin irritation and is very gentle.

Like jojoba oil, meadowfoam seed oil is slightly waxy and closely resembles human sebum. Some research has shown that meadowfoam oil has anti-aging benefits as it helps to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

This oil adheres to the skin and doesn’t easily disintegrate, resulting in moisturizing benefits that last for hours after application. This also helps skin to maintain the best possible moisture balance without losing much moisture to the atmosphere.

It works by creating a type of moisture barrier over the skin’s top layer, preventing moisture from evaporating and ensuring skin stays hydrated. Although it should not be used on by itself as a sunscreen, meadowfoam oil can protect skin and lips from the sun’s UV rays.
