Benefits: Hazelnut penetrates well and is a good choice for oilier skin. It is a good all-purpose oil that can also be used in aromatherapy applications ranging from skin care to massage. It helps to tone and tighten skin while strengthening capillaries and assisting in cell regeneration which means it might be useful against thread (spider) veins.

Encourages cell regeneration while stimulating circulation. It very good moisturizing qualities which makes it a good oil for dry or mature skin. It also acts as a weak filter for damaging sun rays.

In addition, hazelnut has good astringent qualities which helps maintain the skin’s firmness and elasticity. This makes it a superb carrier oil to use on oily and combination skins. It is excellent when blended with Rose hip seed oil for skin wounds or surgical scars. In folk medicine, hazelnut has been used to massage children with respiratory problems.

Hazelnut is used internally in cases of urinary stones, kidney problems and tapeworms.
