• Oil Consistency: Thin
• Perfumery Note: Top/Middle
• Initial Aroma Strength: Medium – Strong
• Scent: Sweet, somewhat spicy, licorice-like (Anise) aroma.

Action: Aperitif, antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, depurative, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, galactagogue, laxative, stimulant, stomachic, splenic, tonic, vermifuge.

Benefits, Indications: Cystitis, fluid retention, gout, intestinal parasites, intestinal spasms, nausea, menopause, and pre-menopausal problems. May be used for stimulating the cardiovascular and respiratory system, for constipation, balancing hormones, supporting pancreatic function and PMS.

It may break up fluids and toxins and cleanse the tissues. Stimulates estrogen production, facilitates birthing, increases lactation, promotes digestion, reduces dyspepsia, expels worms, is stimulating to the circulatory system.

Chemical Constituents: a-pinene, myrcene, fenchone, trans-anethole, methyl chavicol, limonene, 1,8-cineole and anisic aldehyde

Companion Oils: Basil, geranium, lavender, lemon, rosemary CT cineol, sandalwood

Precautions: Sweet fennel oil is powerful and shouldn’t be used in large doses, as it may have a narcotic effect. It should be avoided altogether in pregnancy and cases of epilepsy. It contains high amounts of trans-anethole and for that reason people with estrogen linked cancers, as well as breast-feeding mothers, pregnant women and women suffering from endometriosis should avoid it.

Dermal sensitizer, possibly carcinogenic. Avoid in instances of endometriosis, prostatic hyperplasia.
