  • Additional Name(s): Tea Oil (Camellia Oleifera), Tea Seed Oil (Camellia Sinensis)
  • Scent: Very light, sweet, pleasant aroma.
  • Consistency: Medium
  • Absorption/Feel: Good penetration, leaving a smooth finish – non-greasy.
  • Color: Pale to Golden Yellow
  • Shelf Life: 1-2 years. Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

Action: Antioxidant, emollient, cicatrisant, antiaging, antimicrobial, lipid lowering effects, insecticidal, emulsifier, immunostimulant, astringent, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, neuroprotective, analgesic, anti-allergic

Benefits: Camellia is rich in antioxidants including Vitamin E, essential fatty acids and non-essential fatty acids including oleic acid, an omega-9 fatty acid. It is an effective treatment for acne scars, wounds, cuts and scrapes and helps to diminish fine lines and wrinkles. Camellia seed is excellent for rough/dry skin as on heels, elbows and feet, and is a terrific makeup remover.

This oil is also a good conditioner for hair when using it as a hot oil treatment. Internally, regular consumption of camellia seed helps boost immune function and reduce oxidative stress, which is a leading cause of heart disease and degenerative disease. One unique application of camellia seed is using it to coat cast iron cookware to help prevent rusting.

Good for Skin Types: All – avoid using on active acne breakouts.
