Notes: Sweet Almond Oil is considered to be an affordable all-purpose carrier oil to keep on hand. It is one of the most used carrier oils in aromatherapy massage.

• Scent: Light, sweet and nutty
• Consistency: Medium
• Absorption/Feel: Leaves a slight hint of oil on skin. Absorbs fairly quickly.
• Color: Virtually Clear with a Yellow Tinge.
• Shelf Life: 12 months to 2 years if stored out of direct sunlight and in a cool place.

Action: Emollient, sclerosant, immunostimulant, antihepatotoxic, laxative, analgesic, muscle relaxant, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antidandruff, cicatrisant

Benefits: Sweet Almond helps relieve skin irritation, inflammation and itching, and is very lubricating. It helps protect the surface of the skin and has significant value as an emollient and skin soother and softener. This oil conditions the skin and promotes a clear, young-looking complexion. It also helps to relieve muscular aches and pains.

It is known to help relieve itching, soreness and dryness as well as other forms of inflammation. Sweet almond is considered a natural sunscreen in a limited way, filtering out approximately 25% of harmful sun rays. Almond oil is mostly used on its own as a carrier oil, it also works well by diluting with 10% wheatgerm to help give it a longer shelf life.

Good for Skin Types: All, especially good for dry or irritated skin.

Chemical Analysis: Approximately 8% saturated fat, 65% oleic acid (an omega-9 fatty acid) and 27% linoleic acid (an omega-6 essential fatty acid)

Precautions: No known contraindications, but care should be taken as with all oils.
